- Describe the kinematics, kinetics and electromyography (EMG) of the mature gait cycle and the development of gait in children.
- Identify and contrast critical impairments interfering with gait in children with cerebral palsy including spasticity, stiffness, weakness, and lack of motor control.
- Analyze several common gait deviations in children with CP. Identify the potential causes and differentiate primary impairments from secondary compensations.
- Discuss the evidence in the literature related to interventions to improve gait in children with CP.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop treatment strategies based on an algorithm, clinical experience, and best available evidence to improve gait in individuals with CP.
